Chinsay's Tony Faneco discusses digitalisation in mature markets at The Future of Shipping and Commodities Trading Symposium
Last week, Chinsay’s Chief Commercial Officer Tony Faneco was invited to present and participate on a panel at Nanyang Technological University (NTU)’s Maritime Business Society’s 9th Anniversary, held in conjunction with The Future of Shipping and Commodities Trading Symposium. The presentation was attended by students from NTU and the Singapore Management University who were interested in the fields of shipping, international trading and business economics.
The individual presentations from the panelists focused on commercial and shipping markets in various sectors. In his presentation, Tony described the maturity of markets using the Iron Ore markets as an example. More specifically, Tony shared how market players in a drive for efficiency need to challenge tradition, seek innovation and embrace digitalisation in order to sustain profitability in mature markets.
This was followed by an engaging panel discussion on a wide variety of topics with Charles Morin and Deepak Doshi (Louis Dreyfus Company), Mitchell Board (Puma Energy), Chua Chye Poh (ShipsFocus) and Prof Jasmine Lam (NTU).
Congratulations to the Maritime Business Society on your 9th Anniversary and we will like to extend our appreciation to Melvin Chin, President of the Society and his team for inviting us.
